I don’t think anyone has the obligation to forgive, but as someone who can hold a grudge for over a decade, I can tell the anger has done me no good. It’s like drinking poison and Llama Trump 2020 Four More Years Shirt expecting someone else to suffer for it. So, I do think letting go of the anger and hurt as you try to understand the one that hurt you might help you heal yourself – and I also think it’s fine if you can’t do it, it’s a really hard thing to do, and you don’t owe anyone to forgive them.
