My grandma used to put a clothespin on my nose when I was a baby. She used to say she “fixed” my nose. I’m 46. I was told I was pretty because I was light skinned and If you don’t know the facts, then you gotta shut the fuck up shirt had “good” hair. It definitely wasn’t so long ago and although I didn’t experience racism the way my grandma did….I wasn’t blind to it. You and Klea are right about oppression creating generational trauma. That’s just the tip of the ice berg.
