Looking back with decades of hindsight, it’s obvious that Barbara’s guardian was very anxious about the 65 Years Old Awesome Since March 1957 65th Birthday T Shirt attendance. Whether that was due to past experiences or future expectations, I don’t know. I do know that she cherished the fact that some girls attended, even if we were Barbara’s “enemies”. I have to laugh, remembering how afraid I was that she’d turn me away! My family moved a year after the party, so I don’t know how Barbara’s life turned out. I can only hope that her guardian angel was able to steer her onto a better path than she’d known in her early days.
