Responsible breeders are very aware of the dangers of Be the change shirt. I grew up breeding collies and we NEVER bred a blue merle to anyone until we were sure the stud/dam was not merle factored. Most of the time we knew anyway because we, and the breeders we work with, all keep careful track of pedigrees and health records. Blue merle is a recognized and normal color for collies, but it’s crucial to make sure you are not perpetuating color associated genetic defects. It’s really despicable what is being done to create designer colors in frenchies, poms, doodles, etc.
