Regardless of how Biden is doing, the DNC could totally just decide, “fuck it, we’re not running with Biden,” and pick some totally random person to run as a candidate instead. If they’re smart about it, they’d pick someone who will adopt at least some of the progressive ideas, to give young people especially but progressives in general a reason to show up to the polls. Medicare for All, Universal Student Loan Forgiveness, and the Green New Deal would be good places to start. Comprehensive Immigration Reform would be smart and could even be framed as good for the economy.
