Sounds like my dad. He came from an era when women stayed home and took care of the Dr. Seuss You’re Never old To Pick up a book and Read To A Child shirt and the men went out and earned a living. I know he loved us, it just wasn’t in his nature to say things or make gestures. My mom died before he did of CHF. She’d had multiple small strokes that effected her, and I know she died believing he didn’t love her any more. He did, but he simply couldn’t say what she needed to hear.
