I was convinced that my theater was showing a 3D print at a 2D screening. The polarized city out the windows of the cop car, the clear red/blue left/right superimposition of Tupac trippy art shirt, the blurry text in the foreground and background… I was able to still enjoy the film (a lot), but planned on going back to see a proper screening. But then friends I spoke with related the same experience, so I looked it up online and found reference to the animation style and process they utilized. I feel it was a bold move, and one which took nothing away from the enjoyable 2D visuals on display, but I still want to go back in with some old-fashioned red/blue 3D glasses and pop them on from time to time to see what happens.
