My son is 15 (diagnosed at 2 and had DKA, I nearly lost him!) and Coolest Turkey On The Block — T-shirts. We were at a festival on Saturday and he had some fish and chips, we guessed the amount of carbs (incorrectly) and later on I asked him what his BGL’s were. He said they were 14 but I could tell that he wasn’t himself, I asked to rest them and they were 22.6 but he didn’t want to have to administer another injection in front of everyone. He just wanted to enjoy the evening like everyone else, care free. I told him off as he has to learn that he can’t do that but my heart was breaking. It’s a struggle every day. My heart goes out to you. Keep strong everyone.
